Cloth Dolls....

Once upon a time...

cloth dolls were made from scrap material, or old worn clothes. They were given to good children because they did not break like porcelain nor would they make noise if dropped in church.

I make my dolls one at a time with careful consideration to detail. As the creation of each doll takes place her personality emerges... a truly magical process.

I changed the dolls a little, the "Quilt" is a pot holder I won in a tea cup auction.

This is Coral

and her cousin Shelly

they are shape-shifting mermaids, who have a epb embroidered faces and each have thier own original one of a kind body. Made of muslin - she is a rag doll any girl would love to cuddle. Shelly and Coral can slip off their purple tails , to reveal adorable bloomers. Coral is over 20 inches of mischief. Look at the jewel in her belly button... her tail is oriental brocade and she is wearing a circlet of stones on her forehead! Shelly's tail is crazy quilted and is a little more child safe.

She is a part Monarch and part Sunflower Faery. She also has a epb embroidered face and a one of a kind original body created with this doll in mind. over 20 inches tall, Soft & Cuddly, this lady can brighten any dreary day! Truly a beautiful combination!!
